WEEK #12: It's Spring!! Right?

The calendar marks March 20th as the first official day of spring, but I guess it depends how you interpret this meaning of "spring".

Here we are seeing signs of spring.  There are Common Grackles building nests, though we still had light snow flurries during the pre dawn hours one day this week. Daffodils have popped up above the surface, but they are a loooong way off from blooming.

We are still below seasonal temperatures here so not much going on this week.  It has been quite windy here as well so we didn't clean out the chicken coop as planned. We did make some more fruit tree signs, although the ground is still frozen so they will not be going in anytime soon.

We thought our cat Skitz took of for good this past week. The last time we saw him was Wednesday afternoon, and we were pleasantly surprised to see him back home today! (March 25th). He is a male cat in his prime now so I guess he is expected to wander. Glad to see him back!
