Week #30: Pickled Beets

We pickled beets this week from the basket shown in the previous post. Altogether we got 15 jars which is a lot more than we thought we would get.  Unfortunately, we still had somewhat of a measly harvest and won't be able to pressure can plain beets this year.

We decided to hit the road to London, Ontario this weekend to pick up a few things, and stop in at our favourite produce stands in Chatham-Kent as apricots and peaches are in season.  When we got home we did our own crop tour and saw that are yellow beans were ready to be harvested.  We picked a grocery bag full.  For the next 2 weeks it will be all about our green and yellow beans.
