Is It Spring? January 23rd, 2017

Over the weekend we hit a record high of 13 Celsius, with mild temperatures being present for over a week now here on the mini farm.  We took full advantage of the situation with the lack of snow to work on the southern fence line which was a tedious task that involved pulling out sumac trees, cutting out brambles and poison ivy, rolling out rotten logs, and pulling grapevines out of the cedar trees.  We got a descent sized section done:

Our next section will probably take up a good couple of weekends to complete:

Both the chickens and cats were enjoying the warm temperatures and lack of snow.

Murphy and Miya.

The ice on our pond completely melted by Sunday.  It looks like we still have a lot of fish!

Aaron started a fire, got some coals going, and we had a supper of fish stew along with some Canadian cider.  A nice way to end a hard days work!
