We decided to try an experiment this fall as it has been a mild one so far. On November 13th Aaron got nine 205 litre barrels from work that we filled with water and placed in the greenhouse. We also arranged the benches and planted bok choy, kale, oregano and basil. We are hoping to get a picking of at least one of these so long as the days remain relatively sunny so as to heat up the greenhouse and the water in the barrels. At night (in theory) the warm water in the barrels will keep the temperature in the greenhouse above freezing. As of today everything has sprouted so we shall see if they continue to grow.
